Description

A cozy yurt camp spreads in a quiet and remote corner of Kyrgyzstan at 2,300 meters above sea level.  Only a snowmobile or skis can take you to the camp.

Yurta is a conventional Kyrgyz felt house inherited from the nomadic tribes and included into UNESCO heritage list. All yurtas are fabricated manually. Several white yurtas of the Irdyk camp are installed in a beautiful clearing of the fir forest in a close proximity to a crystal stream. These premises, which also include dining yurt, sauna and toilet facilities, ideally harmonize with the Kyrgyz mountains.

One-day backcountry tours start right at the yurt threshold. Two professional guides escort the traveler in the tour and ensure his safety en route. Two valleys stretching in the same direction offer a variety of ski and split board tracks. It is very important to use a split board, because snowshoes do not perform well on the Issyk-Kul snow. These valleys have both gentle hills for the free-ride beginners and steep slopes for the advanced skiers. It is also possible to ski through a vast forest zone. On top, the natural relief offers to the amateurs of extreme practices downhill skiing between the rocks.

In the evening, the traveler returns to the comfortable yurt heated from inside by a wood driven stove. All yurts are equipped with 4 beds, electrical lighting and receptacles for charging your electronic devices. Before you take-off your boots, a friendly team of the camp personnel offers you barbecue and beer, and later a professional cook prepare you a tasty dinner. After an exhausting frosty day, it is pleasant to warm yourself in a well-arranged sauna or simply wash out the sweat under warm water.
